Game Freak’s First Non-Pokemon Game in 6 Years Coming Stateside

Game Freak has only been known for Pokemon games since the franchise debuted in the late 90s. Ever since then, it’s the only games they’ve ever worked on. In fact, the only other non-Pokemon related game they’ve made since the series exploded in popularity was Drill Dozer in 2005 on the Game Boy Advance, which came stateside in 2006. But all that changed last year when the developer created the rhythmic combat game Rhythm Hunter: Hamro Knight for the 3DS. And earlier this morning, Nintendo announced in its Nintendo Direct stream that the quirky game will be coming to North America “soon”.

Below is a 16-minute gameplay video of the Japanese demo version.

James Conrad is a Pokemon fanboy, lover of the arts and is forever broke.
