Welcome to the weekly series of Gaming on a Budget. While video game prices are on the rise, there are plenty of great games, great deals, and great steals for those who don’t mind playing games after they have been out for a while. My objective in this article is not necessarily to review games, but introduce you to lesser known games, websites, and deals that may be hard to find. I help you get through the week with upcoming weekend sales, free play weekends, and a recap of games you should always have ready to play.

FREE TO PLAY- Combat Arms- With hundreds of different firearms and explosives, this free to play first person shooter allows you to shoot it out online in one of a dozen different modes. With compelte customization of your character, rise through the ranks and beat out your competition. The best part about this game is that more content is being added from Nexon. Check it out on Steam today!

FRANCHISE DEAL- Kalypso Anniversary Weekend- Kalypso Media Digital, publisher for games like Tropico 4 and Jagged Alliance, are having a major sale over at Steam this weekend. From games like Airline Tycoon ($4.99), DUNGEONS ($2.99) and Disciples III ($9.99), you can pick and choose your games, or choose the entire package (Does not include Jagged Alliance Crossfire which comes out on August 24th 2012) for $49.99. Bust out those wallets and check it out on Steam

INDIE SPOTLIGHT- Symphony- Your music is under attack, so you better save it! This music driven game can take many of your songs and allows you to show off your ability to play the game through each song. The more songs you have to play on, the better your time is as you can not only showcase your skill on the internet scoreboard, change weapons, and find new ones in different songs. It’s a game you must see to believe, so check it out on Steam and have fun!

KEN’S SPOTLIGHT- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive- CS: GO Allows for you to relive what a lot of people enjoyed about the original Counter-Strike, but also adding more gameplay modes, proper matchmaking, leader boards, and more. One of the largest competitive PC FPS is getting a big overhall and fans should take every advantage they can of it. It’s already at a cheap price of $14.99, and until August 21st will be for sale at 10% off ($13.49). This game will score a large replay value, which is key while you’re gaming on a budget, so pick it up on Steam and start fragging! *BOMB HAS BEEN PLANTED*
