Gaming On A Budget – September 21st 2012

Welcome to the weekly series of Gaming on a Budget. While video game prices are on the rise, there are plenty of great games, great deals, and great steals for those who don’t mind playing games after they have been out for a while. My objective in this article is not necessarily to review games, but introduce you to lesser known games, websites, and deals that may be hard to find. I help you get through the week with upcoming weekend sales, free play weekends, and a recap of games you should always have ready to play.

FREE TO PLAY- Runman-Don’t let the childish and basic color scheme along with music fool you, this game is tough, but probably one of my favorite platformers out there that is free to play. Created almost 4 years ago now, this game doesn’t really gain too much steam, but with it’s very interesting concepts, this game is a great alternative to Super Meat Boy. Download it on their Website today!!!
FRANCHISE DEAL-NO FRANCHISE DEAL THIS WEEK

INDIE SPOTLIGHT- Shatter- Coming out of the Sidhe camp, this unique arknoid/pong style game allows you to rack up the points, face bosses, and concentrate on not letting the balls pass you. With great physical effects, this is one game that is not your average ‘pong’ ripoff, and definitely rivals BIT TRIP BEAT (I discussed it as a spotlight 7 weeks ago). This is one you have to see for yourself, and you can see it, only on Steam!

KEN’S SPOTLIGHT- Trials 2- Have you ever played a game that was so ridiculous that kept you wanting to play more, wanting to quit playing, and throw your controller at the television all at the same time? Then Trials 2 is ready for you. Based on the motorcycle event, Trials is a non-speed event where you attempt to maneuver yourself through an obstacle course without touching the ground with your feet. Here is a YouTube Video of some stunts, and you can grab it on Steam for under $10 .
Thank you for stopping by this week, as I appreciate each and every reader. You can follow me on Twitter if you would like at @RadioInfluence for updates on everything beer, gaming, wrestling, and sports and follow the site at @DigitalNoob_Com for all updates on everything nerd!
