Gaming on a Budget ~ September 7th 2012

Welcome to the weekly series of Gaming on a Budget. While video game prices are on the rise, there are plenty of great games, great deals, and great steals for those who don’t mind playing games after they have been out for a while. My objective in this article is not necessarily to review games, but introduce you to lesser known games, websites, and deals that may be hard to find. I help you get through the week with upcoming weekend sales, free play weekends, and a recap of games you should always have ready to play.

FREE TO PLAY- Gotham City Impostors F2P-Released on August 30th 2012, this game pits Batman wannabe’s against junior Jokers who have turned the streets into battlefields. With plenty of customization including over a thousand levels of advancement with unlocks and upgrades, this is a progressive FPS players dream! With 412 Steam Achievements, it gives you plenty of things to do and obtain, and keep you coming back for more. Sign up and choose a side at Steam today!

FRANCHISE DEAL-Frozenbyte Collection- Sale ending September 10th 2012, this bundle combines all Trine’s and Shadowgrounds and gives it to you for $9.99. This will provide you with plenty of game play for both the casual and hardcore gamer, including both single player, online, and local co-op abilities. So grab some friends, download the games at Steam today, and enjoy this really cheap pack.

INDIE SPOTLIGHT- Home- Just released for Steam, this side scrolling horror adventure is not really the best for those people who want crazy graphics, but it’s definitely worth the buy, only at $2.99. As you awake from a storm, you realize that you’re in a dark room in a house that’s not yours. So it’s up to you to figure out the mystery in a very dark area. This is one you have to see for yourself, and you can see it, only on Steam!

KEN’S SPOTLIGHT- Torchlight II- Yes, this game is $20, but I’m here to help you save money. With its release on September 20th 2012, this game is back and bigger than ever, and the biggest update adding it to be a multi-player co-op, it’s a great alternative to Diablo III for those who don’t want their children to play very gorey games. What’s even better is that you can get a 4-pack on steam for only $15 a person, so you’re saving money there. Grab it for this price, only on Steam .
