Our post-rock neighbors to the north, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, have just recently announced their first album since their 2002 release ,Yanqui U.X.O.,  and a haitus that lasted until 2010. The record, titled ALLELUJAH! DON’T BEND! ASCEND!, is due to come out October 19 via Constellation. The vinyl edition will come with a 7″ and a poster. Be sure to check out Cargo Records for more details.

However, if you are able to catch them on tour, you MAY be able to get the album earlier than that. According to a GYBE fan tumblr, people in Boston have been able to purchase the album from the band directly. Which probably means it’ll be all over the internet in a short matter of time.
