Legendary comics masterminds Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson are set to release their first Image series, Happy!, a happy-go-lucky tale of murder, betrayal and ponies. Yes, ponies. This Christmas themed tale focues on Nick Sax, who has his fare share of problems. This is the first Image creation from both creators, and it looks to be one tat will stick with fans.

Fired from the police force, betrayed by by his employees in his hit-man business, and battling both alcoholism and eczema, Nick is falling on some rough times. is only salvation is his “partner”, a blue-feathered pony called Happy. Mixing the wonder of the holidays with the grittiness of life, this juxtaposition makes for an interesting sounding title.

According to Morrison:

“After a banner year for creativity at the company, Darick and I hope we can round 2012 out on a high note with the most twisted Christmas crime story you’ll ever read.”

This four issue series will begin on September 26th, with the culmination of the series coming Christmas week.
