Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi Combine To Form Preapp
Posted on August 27, 2012 AT 07:47pm
Andriasang reports that two companies that fans of Japanese-focused games know and love, Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi, will be combining their forces. In a Voltron-esque maneuver, the two publishers will invest in the company, base it in Yokohama, and put Haru Akenaga at the top.
Who’s Haru Akenaga? The man’s previously been the president of NIS America, Nippon Ichi’s branch focused in America on releasing games such as Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and even obscurities such as Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger VS. Darkdeath Evilman. Idea Factory worked on such titles as Trinity Universe and the Hyperdimension Neptunia titles.
The new company, Preapp, will focus on “creating business chances in international markets”. Could this mean making games for America? It definitely couldn’t hurt with Akenaga’s experience.
