Gameforge has announced that their browser based game Ikariam will be getting a “Pirates” update. Players will be able sail the seas as swashbucklers, earning gold, raiding fortresses, and capturing points along the way. Once you create a Pirate Fortress you’ll be on your way to a treasure filled career as a bonafide buccaneer! Pretty sweet update for a free to play game, right? And as if that’s not enough to get you interested the top 50 pirates that capture the most points during a given period will get loot in the form of resources. Once with the winner is announced, the cycle starts all over again with everyone’s points being set back to zero, giving someone else a chance to get that booty!
