Image Comics has a new series to announce, giving Ed Brisson (Comebacks) and Johnnie Christmas a chance to look into the culture of a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the upcoming title Sheltered. Brisson and Christmas tell the tale of two groups that threaten the world, lead by an unlikely source: children. Follow the stories of Lucas, the young man who lead a major rebellion and Victoria, who is leading a group looking to escape from the paranoid hell of Safe Haven, the compound where the last few generations were raised. While Victoria’s team tries to escape the forty miles out of the compound, Lucas’ team takes to hunting them down. The full color, five-issue series will be available monthly starting July 10th, from Image Comics.
Image’s subsidiary, Top Cow Productions, also announced that the Free Comic Book Day relaunch of Aphrodite IX will be reprinted for those who weren’t able to get a copy at this year’s event. Top Cow COO and writer Matt Hawkins and the company’s top artist Stjepan Sejic have brought back the favored character from the early days of its popularity and her appearance in the current run of Artifacts. While this will no longer be free, it will have a brand new cover by Sejic. Both the second printing and the second issue are now available for pre-order.
