Introducing Hideyseek
Posted on June 30, 2012 AT 07:09pm
Hello DigitalNoob readers!
I’m the new kid on the block and thought that I should introduce myself and talk a bit about who I am. My name is David and I live in the San Francisco Bay area, currently working as a Software Engineer for a Facebook game company. That’s right, I make video games for a living, how cool is that?
I’ve been a hardcore gamer longer than I’ve been able to read and I’m an all around nerdy kinda fella. I enjoy most genres of games, but I’m a huge fan of classic Turn-Based RPGs and Puzzle games. The game that showed me that I want to make video games for a living is Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for the SNES. I still own the copy that I had as a kid and continue to look at its strengths when thinking about what makes a good game. As a Software Engineer, I have recently started looking at games in a new light, “How did they do that?” “What made them do it that way rather than this other way” “How can I take this idea and improve upon it” are things I often think about.
While in school, writing quickly became a major hobby of mine as I learned how to better express my thoughts and ideas on paper. I enjoy writing short stories when I have the spare time. This hobby eventually lead to me getting a minor in English when I graduated with my Computer Science degree. I’m super excited to start writing about games and game related news.
I’m a Hufflepuff,
