The Tomb Raider reboot is one of the most anticipated titles, and now we know who is going to play Lara Croft! Square Enix today announced that British actress Camilla Luddington will be the voice and character model for the popular video game heroine. Square Enix had scouts around the world, looking for the perfect blend of youth and emotional depth needed for the character.

“This has been one of the most important jobs for us to get right,” said Darrell Gallagher, head of studio at Crystal Dynamics “This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice and performance acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction.”

Camilla Luddington will join developers from Crystal Dynamics on panels at San Diego Comic Con, and Nerd HQ to talk about Tomb Raider. Camilla is best known for her appearances on Showtime’s Californication, and she can also be seen in the current season of True Blood.
