“It’s Morphin’ Time” For GoBusters on DS

Posted on July 5, 2012 AT 06:17am

Power Rangers is about to celebrate it’s 20th anniversary in America with the series Power Rangers Megaforce. If it’s not been obvious over the years, the American-airing series (produced first in California and then in New Zealand) has used footage from a Japanese ongoing franchise known as Super Sentai. In Japan, they just celebrated the 35th anniversary of their franchise with Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, and decided to have a brand-new start with 2012′s series, Tokumei Sentai GoBusters.

GoBusters has tried to change things up left and right, using terminology from the American series, such as “It’s Morphin’ Time” and “Megazords”, alongside general visual changes, such as the material the suits are made out of.

Surprising nobody, though, is that they’ve kept the tradition of having video games come out for the franchise. On September 27th, a game based off the franchise will hit the Nintendo DS, Andriasang reports. In the included trailer, it’s obvious that the three main GoBusters and two supplementary heroes, Beet Buster and Stag Buster, will be playable. Additionally, five Ganbaride cards for the Ganbaride arcade will be included. Ganbaride has been a multi-year arcade title that uses cards from the show to use as characters and attacks.

Will the game come to America? Probably not. At this rate, Tokumei Sentai GoBusters won’t be adapted in America for a few years. Still, looks to be a good import for fans of the franchise.
