The end of the DLC season for Modern Warfare 3 is upon us but don’t be sad, a new Call of Duty is coming, remember? You knew it couldn’t last forever.

However, just to put some salve on those wounded hearts, Infinity Ward has released information regarding when the last two collections will be released and what is in them. Sure, Elite members already have some of these maps but now you have something to look forward to that they don’t.

Collection #3, dubbed the Chaos Pack, will be available for download August 9th. This pack will contain three new Face-Off maps and four new Spec Ops missions. It will also be your introduction to the new Spec Ops Chaos Mode.

Spec Ops Missions:

  • Arctic Recon
  • Special Delivery
  • Vertigo
  • Light ’em Up

Face-Off Maps:

  • U-Turn
  • Vortex
  • Intersection
The Spec Ops Chaos Mode will put players onto one of four “fan favorite” maps and it’s up to them to survive the waves of enemies that will be thrown at them. The maps will be Dome, Underground, Village, and Resistance.

Collection #4, Final Assault, will be released September 6th and contain five new multiplayer maps. These maps will give players varied locations for some old fashioned killing fun.

Multiplayer maps:

  • Boardwalk
  • Decommission
  • Parish
  • Offshore
  • Gulch
Of course Elite members will get access to the maps that haven’t been released for Elite yet. August will see the Spec Ops Chaos mode, Light ‘Em Up, and Special Delivery released for Elite and September will round out the last of the Elite content with Gulch, Parish, and Boardwalk.
The DLC total for Modern Warfare 3 will have reached 29 pieces will the release of these two collections. That is the most DLC for a Call of Duty title ever. The packs will be 1200 Microsoft points, or $14.99, and will be released on the Xbox 360 first with other platforms following soon after.
