Magic 2014 – DotP to Include Deck Customization and Slivers

Posted on May 7, 2013 AT 10:34am

Wizards of the Coast has revealed two brand new features for the upcoming Magic 2014: Duels of the Planeswalkers game which will be debuting over the summer. The fourth addition to this series will be bringing a long sought after play style that has yet to be seen in DotP as well as the debut of a popular tribal set.

Sealed Play will allow players to open booster packs and build decks to play against either AI or against other players. Each sealed pool is made up of 84 cards that mimic actual TCG booster packs. In the Solo Sealed Campaign mode, players will take on mono-colored Sealed decks (each corresponding with a particular Planeswalker) in a six-deck ladder before facing a final “Boss” Sealed deck. After Sealed Play is complete, players can go back and edit their decks or re-build it all together, thus giving the Duels of the Planeswalkers series the first taste of customizable decks.

The second feature that Magic 2014 will bring to the fold is the addition of  the tribal favorite, Slivers, and include the following:

−     Sliver Construct

−     Predatory Sliver

−     Groundshaker Sliver

−     Megantic Sliver

−     Blur Sliver

−     Striking Sliver

−     Thorncaster Sliver

−     Battle Sliver

−     Sentinel Sliver

−     Bonescythe Sliver

A sorcery that creates Sliver tokens, Hive Stirrings, will also be seen in the game as well. Take a glimpse of some of these Slivers on the official Magic: The Gathering Facebook Page.

Magic 2014 – DotP will be available on PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, iPad, and for the first time on Android.
