Starting out as a humble mod then having funding scraped would kill most projects before they started. Natural Selection rose above the odds first setting up their very own engine. PAX was the next war zone the game stepped into and quickly conquered. Now the steam store becomes the newest war front though it seems the team has no worries and is coming out with guns blazing.

Natural Selection 2 is an immersive, multiplayer shooter that pits aliens against humans in a strategic and action-packed struggle for survival. It seamlessly combines a shooter/FPS gameplay with a strategy (RTS) game.

NS2 will be hitting the steam store sometime in October though the date is not nailed down you may want to pre-order soon. Seems the team is giving away some goodies especially if you are adopting early. Natural Selection 2 is sure to be a hit that you do not want to miss so jump on the train before it leaves the station.

Two versions of NS2 will ultimately be available on the Steam Store: Standard and Deluxe. The Standard edition will cost $24.99 and gives you the full game. The Deluxe edition costs $39.99 and gives you the full game plus a whole bag of goodies:

From now until release day in October, Deluxe Edition will be the only version available on Steam, and will be discounted to $24.99. There is also a 4-pack available for $74.97.
