Marvel Announces New X-Men Title, Updates On Captain America And Guardians Films
Posted on January 14, 2013 AT 06:59pm
Marvel Comics teased a new title by comic book stars Brian Wood and Olivier Copiel, given the teaser title “XX”. The company announced the book that accompanies the teaser today, revealing to the world that the new title will be titled simply X-Men, and will feature an all-female cast of the iconic franchise. Psylocke, Rogue, Storm, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey and Jubilee compose the team that will fight against those who wish to create chaos in the world. An alien invasion is fast approaching and the key to saving (or destroying) the world is within an orphaned baby brought home by Jubilee herself. This exciting series will release as a part of the Marvel Now! initiative in April.
Marvel is not just a comic book company, however, and have made some incredibly successful film adaptations of their classic stories. With a major universe taking shape with the original five franchises (Captain America, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and The Avengers), the scheduled sequels have gotten some technological updates as well. With the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians Of The Galaxy slated to come out in 2014, the incredible technology that has been incorporated into the films has taken the next step. It has been announced that both films will be released in 3D, allowing the filmmakers to add the groundbreaking technology into their already breathtaking effects.
