One of the mysterious teasers of the Marvel NOW! campaign was announced, with the teaser image “Lightning” looking like an obvious reference to the Thunderbolts, the team of super-criminals turned reluctant heroes. Turns out that was an accurate guess, with Marvel’s announcement that there will be a new Thunderbolts title coming in the later waves of the Marvel NOW! launch. The new title features former Deadpool writer Daniel Way and artist Steve Dillon, along with a brand new team lead by a Thunderbolt all his own: The Red Hulk, “Thunderbolt” Ross.

Ross leads a team of deadly, stubborn, and mostly crazy individuals: the latest Venom, Flash Thompson, Elektra, Frank Castle (The Punisher), and a familiar face to Way, Deadpool. The team is meant to protect the oppressed, and to do so in the most obvious way possible, making themselves known, making themselves present, and doing what they do best.

This interesting team will make their debut in explosive fashion this December.
