I’m Commander Shepard, and This is My Favorite Art of the Citadel
Posted on November 30, 2012 AT 05:03pm
Like many of you, I’ve often wondered if it would be possible to own some of the art from certain games beyond just a glossy paper poster. Cook & Becker, self titled ‘Next-gen Contemporary Art Dealers’, have teamed up with both BioWare and DICE to offer high quality giclée prints of art from Mass Effect and Mirror’s Edge, which are certainly two of my favorite games with the initials ‘ME’.
From the press release:
The production of these museum-grade Certified Art Giclées™ is a joint initiative by BioWare, DICE and Cook & Becker to celebrate the art and design of these seminal game titles. The prints are meant to present the digitally created art in the best possible way. The collections are aimed at contemporary art collectors and enthusiasts and are exclusively available in a one of kind limited edition.
All giclées from both collections come with a signed, dated and numbered Certificate of Authenticity plus a lifelong warranty to the original buyer. The prints are available either unframed or with Cook & Becker’s bespoke Dibond Liquid Gloss or Dibond Diasec + Acrylic glass finishes.
If you wanted something unique and strikingly beautiful to show your love for either of these games, and have at least $325 available in your holiday funds, these are definitely worth a look. Each piece is a limited to 50 pieces for the smaller prints, 18 for the larger ones, and a mere 12 for the Mass Effect ‘Team’ print [which will set you back a cool $2500 and will name you worthy of bragging rights from here to the fall of the Citadel].
I’ve got my eye on the Mirror’s Edge ‘Above It All’ print, myself. Though, unless Santa or Hannukah Harry have unusually deep pockets this year, I think I’m going to miss out on this one.
See the full gallery of art below, or head straight to Cook & Becker’s Mass Effect and Mirror’s Edge print pages while there’s still some left! You should also follow Cook & Becker on Twitter, and like their page on Facebook!
