More Sellouts For Image’s Peter Panzerfaust, IDW Collects The Tarzan Comic Strips And Dark Horse Hits Number One!
Posted on February 8, 2013 AT 06:46pm
Image Comics’ hit re-imagining of Peter Pan, Peter Panzerfaust, has been selling out like crazy. After the announced that issue eight, which features the first appearance of Kapitan Haken (Captain Hook), the previous issue followed suit, with issue seven (that includes the first appearance of Tiger Lily) selling out at well, garnering a second printing for yet another issue in the series. The series, written by Kurtis J. Weibe and with art by Tyler Jenkins, has been praised for its unique look on a classic story. The second printing of Peter Panzerfaust #7 will get back to shelves on March 6th.
IDW Publishing also announced that the icon Russ Manning comic strip of Tarzan, will be released in a four volume set through the company. With the first three volumes covering his take on the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs from 1967-1974, and the final volume covering up until the end of Manning’s run with the series in 1979. Coming in 2013, Tarzan: The Complete Russ Manning Newspaper Strips will be sure to bring a bit of nostalgia to fans of his work, and hopefully bring a few new fans to the realm of the King Of The Jungle.
A major congratulations also goes to Dark Horse Comics, whose terrific collection of artwork and history of the classic The Legend Of Zelda series Hyrule Historia, has become the number one book in America! At the top of the charts on the Neilsen BookScan charts, the New York Times Bestsellers List and the Wall Street Journal, this landmark book has sold over 400,000 copies in a very short period of time. Full of history, great artwork and even some manga, this is a must have for anyone who loves the franchise.
