Dead Island Riptide is not due for release until 2013 but Deep Silver has released a trailer inspired by the next installment in the Dead Island series.

“Furious monsoon rainstorms have laid waste to the island of Palanai in the Banoi archipelago, waters have risen and caused a flood disaster – because of this and the raging zombie invasion, a rescue mission for the survivors seems to be without prospect of success. All hope seems to have been lost for the surviving humans…”

Riptide will introduce players to a fifth character with a whole new set of skills and there is a brand new zombie mutation. The skills of all the characters will be needed if they plan on surviving the new terrors that await them on Banoi. There will be traps, turrets, and fences to help players protect the sanctuaries and fend off the zombie onslaught.
