NEXON Co. Ltd. has announced they are entering into licensing deal with Kodansha Ltd. to publish a game based on the vastly popular Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX anime series. The series is based on the popular manga, Ghost in the Shell by Masamune Shirow. The game will expand upon the award-winning franchise.
Said NEXON’s CEO, Seungwoo Choi, “We are very pleased to have given the opportunity to work with Kodansha in the development of games for the Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX franchise, which is highly popular worldwide. We will add NEXON’s wide-ranging experiences and know-how to the original creation in order to develop high quality games to meet the expectations of all its fans.”
Since the manga’s release in 1989, it has been adapted into two theatrical movies, an anime series, and a few games.
