No Console? No Problem With Gaikai’s Cloud Gaming
Posted on June 6, 2012 AT 11:13pm
There could soon be a revolution in the gaming industry, as gaming service Gaikai is set to put a whole new spin on the way players get to game. With playable demos for nearly every game, something gamers have been clamoring for, and the ability to play high resolution, current generation games without the use of a console, this company is set to put the “cloud” on a whole new level.
In an exclusive E3 demonstration, Gaikai showed off some new tech, including a partnership with Samsung to show off this new cloud based service. Adding in the ability to play games such as Bulletstorm and World Of Warcraft at full speed on a tablet, this is an incredibly innovative service that could completely change the face of the industry.
If this picks up, the days of using consoles could be numbered, as long as this service can keep up with the next generation. By using the cloud instead of a memory based system, games load fast, play smoothly, and are available in an instant. No more waiting for day-long installs, or a million service agreements, if Gaikai has anything to say about it. Keep in the loop with more news from this innovative gaming service, which should have new services rolling out next month.
And if all else fails, consoles still work, right?
