Dark Horse Comics has made a splash as New York Comic Con thus far, making some pretty incredible announcements for their plans in the near future. Keeping with the trend, Dark Horse (along with Emily The Strange creator Rob Reger, co-writer Mariah Huehner and artist Emily Ivey) has announced that fan-favoriteEmily The Strange is making a comeback, and this time, she’s bringing friends.

This full-color miniseries brings out what fans loved about the series and the character, with Emily and her cats working on a brand new project: to make the best song in the world so Emily can win a legendary haunted guitar. Emily and her cohorts have big plans, recording songs for a new album, and have their sights set on taking the world by storm in 2013, with the release of Emily and the Strangers.

In other news on the Emily front, a film adaptation is also in the works, with Chloe Grace Moretz taking on the role of the title character.

Get ready for the return of Emily the Strange, as the new miniseries hits stores on January 30th, 2013.
