PAX East 2013: Shoot Many Robots Mobile Hands On

Over PAX East weekend I spent some hands on time playing the mobile version of Shoot Many Robots, a 2D indie title from Demiurge Studios. The concept behind Shoot Many Robots is quite simple: there are many robots and you must shoot them! But blended in with that straightforward concept is a highly addictive title that is currently free to play on Android devices.

Move your character as quickly as possible between three lanes of constant mayhem, all while running straight for the mechanical creatures that stand in your way. Tap your screen to shoot the oncoming robots while collecting nuts (in game currency). But don’t get too comfortable blasting away as you need to keep an eye on what’s in front of you.  Obstacles litter the runway but a well-timed jump is typically enough to keep you out of harm’s way… for a second. Use your nuts to purchase additional weapons so you can take out bigger robots. Or use your nuts to buy yourself a sweet hat to gain a little bit more of an edge!

The game does have a feature so you can pay real money to gain some additional nuts but it’s not necessary to have a good time playing Shoot Many Robots. With completely randomized levels and the ability to see how every run measures up to your best score, Demiurge’s mobile release has a high replay value. Not to mention you shoot things, blow stuff up, and collect shiny stuff! And it’s free so you have nothing to lose. Shoot Many Robots is available now on Android devices and is coming soon to Apple’s iOS.

Now run along and download this ridiculously fun game, those robots aren’t going to shoot themselves!
