Just ahead of Pax East 2013, Wizards of the Coast has announced the next edition of its multi-platform game, Magic 2014: Duels of the Planeswalkers for this summer. In the game’s last incarnation, Magic 2013, Wizards jumped from consoles and PC to include their first mobile game with the iPad. With Magic 2014, the game will be available on all previous platforms and, for the first time ever, it will be available on Android.

On top of previous features, like a tutorial for new players, Magic 2014 will include:

• Immersive storyline that connects the online and offline Magic 2014 experience
• 10  Brand New Decks
• 15 Ne Encounters
• 10 New Puzzle Challenges
• New Game Mode
• First look at the cards from the Magic 2014 Core Set, releasing later in the summer

Alongside, the announcement of the new digital game is that of the Magic 2014 Core Set which will feature 249 cards and the Planeswalkers of Ajani, Jace, Liliana, Chandra, and Garruk.

If you are at PAX East this weekend, make sure you visit the Magic: the Gathering booth (#562) to demo on Magic 2014 on PC or iPad, earn exclusive Chandra themed items, purchase current product and licensed goods, and help Chandra in her quest in which the reward is a flame-kissed picture with Chandra, herself! For those who like to play the paper version, you will have a chance to play against invited celebrities on the show floor or participate in events designed for players of all levels in Gaming Hall B. Additionally, 16 players will compete for the Magic Online Championship which will have tournaments running all three days of the convention. Also, make sure to go to the Magic: the Gathering panel which will take place on Saturday in the Corgi Theatre.
