Ubisoft and IGN Entertainment are teaming up to bring Shootmania Storm to the IGN Pro League. This marks the first time that a first-person-shooter has been accepted into this league. The first tournament involving Shootmania will take place at PAX Prime from August 31 to September 2 at the Ubisoft booth. You can watch the tournament live online at http://www.ign.com/ipl/ShootMania.
”We’re excited for ShootMania Storm to be part of IPL’s line-up,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft. “The team at Nadeo has done a tremendous job in creating a fun and competitive game and players in the upcoming IPL tournaments will validate ShootMania as the next big tournament-tested shooter.”
Shootmania is Ubisoft’s follow-up to their arcade racing game, Trackmania, and is a part of the ManiaPlanet System. As with Trackmania, players are free to create their own content, including maps and game modes. To date, players have created more than 15 game modes and more than 20,000 maps.
