Phoenix Wright has decided to end his hiatus from being a lawyer, according to Famitsu’. In a little over two weeks, the 2012 Tokyo Game Show begins and Capcom will being showing off the demo for Gyakuten Saiban 5 [or, as we know it outside of Japan, Ace Attorney 5] for the Nintendo 3DS.

Here’s what’s known so far:

Phoenix Wright is returning as the main character, hoisting his attorney’s badge high. The game picks up one year after the events of Apollo Justice. There is an explosion at the courthouse and Phoenix is defending a high school girl by the name of Shinobu, who is prone to fits/spasms and is physically weak. The opposing lawyer is the brother of the laughable Winston Payne. There are hints that she may become Phoenix’s new sidekick, as well.

The game itself will feature full 3D characters, as opposed to the sprite-based 2D art which has appeared in all of the prior games. It also appears to give the player access to facial expressions, which will likely have an affect in interrogation and cross examination.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out more: TGS runs from September 20th through the 23rd! We’ll bring you all the justice you can stand as soon as the court is back in session.
