“PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale” To Go Public Beta
Posted on August 2, 2012 AT 11:14am
We’ll just outright state it; it’s a Super Smash Bros. clone. Sony didn’t seem to hide the fact when posting videos to YouTube with the Nintendo franchise as a tag. It could still be a fun game, but the characters decidedly lack the iconic nature of Nintendo’s crew. It’s fine to admit that; Sega and Sonic All-Star Racing was fun for a Mario Kart knockoff.
While a few players have had a shot at a private beta at the moment (revealing some unfinished stages and characters in the code), Sony has announced a more public beta this fall. As they mention that PlayStation Plus members will have “early access”, it seems likely that all PlayStation 3 users will have access to the beta.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will hit America on October 23rd for both the PS3 and the Vita. Presumably, the beta would hit sometime before then, so it can actually function as a beta, and not a specialized demo.
