Transcripted looks to turn the Match-3 genre on its head by injecting it with a healthy dose of a twin stick shooter. Much like Match-3 mainstay game Zuma, Transcripted has you firing colored blocks at DNA strands, filling a bar until the next screen. What sets it apart from most games is that you control a small (microscopic, if you can recognize the environment) ship, killing other cell types and taking their colored bars. Transcripted also features an experience system and upgrade trees. Transcripted also boasts challenge rooms to compete for high scores, as well as a story mode. We’ll find out more about how Transcripted changes the genres closer to its planned release in August, from Topware Interactive.
