With every new trailer or gameplay footage pertaining to Resident Evil 6, Capcom continue to further emphasize their departure from their horror origins. This newest gameplay footage featuring Jake, is no exception. The video shows more repetitive zombie killing with what looks to be some particularly chaotic and awkward camera control.

After battling through a plethora of zombies, Jake, being in the snow, stumbles upon a couple of conveniently placed jet skis that allow him and Ashley to escape. There are plenty of action games that incorporate a jet ski chase of some sort but the one that came to mind during this video was that of Modern Warfare 2. This isn’t a good sign; when playing a Resident Evil game, the last game I want to be reminded of is Call of Duty. No doubt there will be plenty fans who share Capcom’s growing affinity for action, which began with Resident Evil 5, but personally, it all looks a bit nonsensical for my tastes.

Resident Evil 6 will be released on the 2nd of October for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
