Team 17 Digital Limited has announced the classic, Alien Breed, as a universal app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch sometime in August of this year.  Alien Breed was originally released in 1991 for the Commodore Amiga and later for the PC.  One of the original survival horror games will get upgrades in this new edition.  Players have the choice to use the original Amiga graphics or new retina-display imagery.  Also, the challenge of the original game will persist, but a new in-game store to stock up on extra supplies will be available to help those that struggle.

Alien Breed iOS will include three different sets of maps from the original Alien Breed, Alien Breed Special Edition and the all new Alien Breed Convergence.  It will feature touch controls but will also be playable with the Ion iCade or Gametel Controller, if you feel like going really retro.
