The fine folks at Harmonix continue with their dedication to the art of rock ‘n roll with plastic instruments as yet more tracks were announced today for the Rock Band series. The summer is heating up, and if you are like me, you live in a place where the heat is nothing short of awful just about every day. Giving me another excuse to stay indoors while the sun feels like it has a direct line down to my neck and making me look like a lobster just pushes Harmonix to the top of my list of people getting a kudos this summer.
Three new tracks make their way to the Rock Band store this coming week, featuring one “big name” track and then two tracks from a lesser-known band. The big hit making its way to Rock Band this week is by New York indie rock heroes the Strokes with their track “Under Cover of Darkness.” On top of that, two tracks by a band making their Rock Band debut come from Foster the People. Foster the People’s debut into the world of Rock Band comes with their tracks “Helena Beat” and “Don’t Stop (Color the Walls).”
These new tracks will hit the Xbox 360, Wii and Playstation 3 on July 24th here in the states, July 25th in Europe. Each track will sell for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii points), with “Under Cover of Darkness” eligible for a $0.99 (80 Microsoft Points, 100 Wii Points) Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade.
