Ron Moravek Joins THQ as Exec VP, Production

With over fourteen years of experience in the industry as both a business entrepreneur and creative development executive, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Science/Liberal Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, Ron Moravek has been appointed Executive Vice President, Production, and will be reporting directed to THQ President John Rubin.
Moravek co-founded and was chief operating officer of Relic Entertainment where he was part of the executive team that helped negotiate the sale of the studio to THQ in 2004, and served as the studio’s GM until 2006. Afterwards, he was the VP and COO of Electronic Arts, Canada, co-founded and ran two different software companies. Recently, Moravek held the role of served as a senior advisor to NuCaptcha, a cloud-based internet security platform.
“Ron is an exceptional development executive with unique perspective on the industry from both a creative and business point of view,” said Rubin. “His entrepreneurial experience as well as his ability to drive dynamic teams is a great fit for our strategic objectives. Additionally, Ron’s experience building high-quality products will help us continue to deliver great games and build upon our foundation to innovate digitally in the future.”
