Saturn-Era Fighters Headed To Xbox Live Arcade?
Posted on October 9, 2012 AT 11:59am
Chances are, you’ll be able to play a trio of Saturn-era arcade fighting games on Xbox Live Arcade (and likely, PlayStation Network) soon, if ratings are to be believed, Joystiq reports.
Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic The Fighters, and Fighting Vipers have all been rated by the German ratings board, USK. It’s basically as if these games showed up rated by the ESRB for Xbox Live Arcade.
Remember these games? Virtua Fighter 2 expanded the first 3D fighting game with new characters, better graphics, and even received accurate ports up to the PlayStation 2 (many other ports were of the 2D Genesis version). Fighting Vipers was another 3D fighter that added the concept of destructible armor, and Sonic The Fighters was a Sonic-based spinoff of Fighting Vipers, throwing the blue bur into the ring. It was last seen in Sonic Gems Collection.
If Virtua Fighter Kids and Fighters Megamix came out on the system, all would be well.
