Yes comic fans, you read that right, a My Little Pony comic is coming your way and the folks at IDW are bringing it to you.
Hasbro first brought My Little Pony to the world in 1983 and then relaunched it in 2003 and watched it increase in popularity. Now Hasbro has green lit a comic. “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” will be released into the world in November 2012. The series will follow the My Little Pony gang’s adventures in Ponyville and chock full of moral lessons.
The series will be written by the talented Katie Cook and will feature the artistic talents of Jill Thompson and Stephanie Buscema for special covers plus illustrations by Andy Price.
“My Little Pony is a highly successful brand and we’re incredibly excited to have the opportunity to extend the franchise through this collaboration with Hasbro,” said IDW CEO and Publisher, Ted Adams. “We look forward to providing new stories for the fans and launching their favorite ponies into comic book form.”
I am not sure who is going to be more excited, comic book fans or “bronies.”
