SDCC: Science Channel to Film Firefly Reunion Special
Posted on July 11, 2012 AT 10:17am
In a celebration of Firefly‘s tenth anniversary, the Science Channel hosted an all-day marathon on Independence Day. Now, the channel has another rather shiny announcement. The Science Channel will be filming part of their Firefly cast reunion special at San Diego Comic Con.
The one-hour Pangolin Pictures produced, Browncoats Unite, will document the panel and will include an all exclusive behind-the-scenes roundtable that will delve deeper into this most hallowed series. The panel and the roundtable will be moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s, Jeff Jenson.
“Firefly is a landmark work of science fiction and a favorite with our viewers,” said Debbie Myers, general manager and executive vice president of Science. “Ever since it premiered on Science, fans have asked us to do something special to mark its 10-year anniversary. With this signature celebration, punctuated by Browncoats Unite, we will connect the minds behind this classic franchise with its legions of passionate fans.”
Browncoats Unite will air on the Science Channel alongside yet another Firefly marathon on Sunday, November 11, 2012. For those going to SDCC, join Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, as well as writers Tim Minear and Jose Molina at the Firefly panel on Friday at 12:30 pm in Ballroom 20.
