The smash underground hit by Jim Zub, Skullkickers, is thinking outsider the box a little bit, releasing a very special issue with the upcoming Skullkickers #18, published by Image Comics.

The issue, entitled “Tavern Tales”, will have some of the best of the indie comics industry writing a special short story for the issue. With names such as Chew creative team John Layman and Rob Guillory, Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore of The Strange Talent Of Luther Strode, as well as folks such as Blair Butler, Charles Soule and J. Torres, this issue promises to be epic.

Also featured in the comic is the team of Aubrey Sitterson and Ivan Anya, who won a “Tavern Tales” contest to work their way into the book. While not major names in the comics industry, Sitterson is well known for other endeavors, with work experience ranging from Marvel Comics to WWE Games.

Skullkickers #18 will be available in all its glory on September 26th.
