Skybound Sells Out,Twice!
Posted on September 12, 2012 AT 06:35pm
Robert Kirkman’s wing of Image Comics, Skybound, has been going through a major wave of popularity, as with the rest of the company. Kirkman, best known for his series The Walking Dead, also put in some major numbers with the 100th issue of the series, setting a record for best single issue opening sales in the 21st century.
Two major titles from Skybound have announced sellouts of their most recent entries, with Volume 2 of the Invincible spin-off Guarding The Globe and another Kirkman title, Thief Of Thieves, which sold out issue #8, its latest.
Guarding The Globe, which features the team of writer Phil Hester (known for his work on Top Cow’s The Darkness) and Todd Nauck, is being hailed as one of the best “team books” the comic world has to offer, making its sell-out no surprise. Thankfully for fans who missed out, there will be a reissue for the volume on October 3rd.
Theif Of Thieves has been on a bit of a run when it comes to sell-outs, continuing the streak in Issue #8, the first in a new James Asmus/Shawn Martinbrough storyline. It will also have a reprint date of October 3rd.
Skybound and Image Comics have had a terrific year so far, and comic book fan who haven’t seen any of the recent titles should get going while there’s still time.
