Stained is a side-scrolling, platforming, physics-based, combat game that is set in a gorgeous 3D environment.  Players will make their way through a castle, solving puzzles that will cause new events to happen or foes to appear. Those defeated foes might not stay defeated and reform later in the game, just to be defeated again. As the name implies, broken glass pieces will play an integral part in the game’s story.

One of the most interesting facts about Stained is that is was created using nothing but open-source software. The graphics are powered by OGRE, the physics engine is Bullet, and the modelling and level design was done in Blender.

Stained will be coming to PCs at some point this year but no set release date has been set.
