Football fans love Madden, and for this year, there was no exception. It’s really no surprise with how big the business of the National Football League has grown in the past decade helping to make Madden a complete success for years for EA Sports, and the NFL. Based on internal estimates, EA announced today that the sell-through was up 7% in the first 24 hours with 900,000 units sold which was a new record for the HD console generation.

“It was a phenomenal first day for Madden NFL 13, and we have high expectations for this great game to be popular throughout the fall and into the holidays,” said Seong Ohm, Walmart SVP of Entertainment.

Madden NFL 13′ also set a one day online usage record with a 28% spike in peak simultaneous users in comparison to last year’s first day sales. Overall, this is the biggest Single-Year Rise in for an EA SPORTS Game in Four Years.

“We’re excited that our partnership with EA has helped deliver our customers unique access and content to this great game. There’s incredible demand for Madden NFL 13, and it’s easy to see why people are loving it.”

It’s clear that football fans across the nation are excited about the NFL and love what Madden NFL 13′ has put on the table this year. Madden NFL 13′ is available now for Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation Vita, and Playstation 3 consoles.
