Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack Heading to Steam on August 15th

Mutant Blobs Attack

The past few years have really seen a renaissance when it comes to platform and adventure games created by smaller studios, it seems. We’ve seen some amazing games over the past few years like Braid, Super Meat Boy, Limbo and many, many more. This comes with the major platforms like Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC’s Steam making it easier for smaller game developers to get their games out into the public, have them reasonably marketed and possibly even get out to thousands and thousands of players. Such games are juxtaposed by the grandeur and sheer ridiculousness of some of the blockbuster titles that are released by the larger game studios.

Drinkbox Studios is seeing some similar success when it comes to their game series, Tales from Space. The second installment of the series, Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, has seen a good deal of success on the Playstation store, available for the Playstation Vita handheld console. It looks like business is about to pick up for them, though, as it is going through the final testing phase in the Steam marketplace right now and should be available to gamers on August 15th. The decision to release the game through Steam allows for more options for future content as well, here is Drinkbox’s breakdown for what to expect on Steam;

  • Support for Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud Saves and Steam Leaderboards
  • Updated minigame levels, crafted specifically for PC
  • Support for Gamepad and/or Keyboard-and-mouse controls
  • New ultra-glorious high resolution art
  • More hidden references and bad jokes

Below is the new trailer for Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack on Steam!
