Team NINJA has announced two things about the upcoming game Yaiba: Firstly, that they’re the team who is working with Keiji Inafune’s company, comcept, to create it. Secondly, it’s a spin off of the Ninja Gaiden series. Thus, the full title is Yaina: Ninja Gaiden Z.

So, holy crap. Ninja cyborg fighting zombies… In the world of Ninja Gaiden… created by the father of Megaman. Why can’t this be released NOW?!

“When you think of Inafune you think of zombies, and when you think of Team NINJA you are aware of their heritage in creating great ninja games,” said Keiji Inafune, founder of comcept. “So it was natural to combine these ideas in an organic way when I started thinking about my next game project. I believe players will really enjoy the YAIBA idea of creating a spectacular game experience around zombies, ninja, action and mechs.”

Details are scant, but like zombies, they’re bound to rise up in time.
