Tears for the PC Gamer: New Version of Final Fantasy VII Announced for PC

After a brief wait of 15 years, Square Enix has confirmed that it will be bringing the legendary RPG back to PC. You may remember the old version on PC but unfortunately it was riddled with bugs and issues so Square Enix has decided to give the game a breath of new life. Hopefully we will finally have the Final Fantasy experience we know and love.

Final Fantasy VII is often cited as the best game in the Final Fantasy series and indeed one of the most notable J-RPGs of all time. Its story and characters are very memorable and it created an amazing game world with (for the time) innovative graphics. Nearly fifteen years after the game was first released on Windows, Square Enix has announced the release of a new version of Final Fantasy VII. The game will feature 36 new achievements as well as a significant online component. It also promises a new feature called the ‘Character Booster’. This is great news for PC fans of the series, as the first PC port was criticized for some of its bugs and could definitely use a facelift. There are no details on release so far other than the fact that the game will be available exclusively through Square Enix’s online store. They’ve also released a trailer for it, which you can check out below.
