As a working college student, homework and projects are the last thing I’m excited about spending my time on. However when told I get to choose my research topic, and have free rein on the creative direction the project takes, is when the gamer hidden not too far under my skin breaks through the surface. I decided to take on two huge subjects that have changed dramatically over the past few years, the gaming industry and social media. Having my subject and not being able to contain my giddy excitement, I recruited two partners in crime to help dish the subject out.
After toying with a few research questions, the ultimate question emerged. “How has social media strengthened or weakened the gaming industry?” Who better to get the answer from than gamers themselves? A short survey was created, and spammed on all of my friends facebook feed for a few days until we got just over 80 responses. After cutting through all of the awesome information collected and hours of organizing, a video was born.
Thank you to my two partners in crime who you can find on youtube: (Troy DeWinne) FifthPlaceLosers and (Shabazz Ishmael) Sho Vs Sway
