Today Dark Horse comics has announced that it will release a four issue comic series based on The Last of Us in 2013.  The Last of Us: American Dreams will be written by lead writer Neil Druckmann and co-written and illustrated by Faith Erin Hicks.  It will focus on Ellie’s early life in a military orphanage culminate in her first meeting with Joel, the main protagonist from The Last of Us.  The first issue of the series will premiere in the spring of 2013.  To coincide with the launch of the game, Dark Horse will also release The Art of The Last of Us.  The deluxe hardcover art book will focus on the characters, infected humans, and environments featured in The Last of Us.
