While the pre-order perks have been exposed, you can leave now if you’re thinking Lara Croft will be too. Sorry to disappoint, but bikini skins are not part of any incentive that we know of to date. Womp, womp. Now, for those of you who are here for the right reasons, read on! We are now at the point as a gaming society where we have come to learn that buying the latest title we want from a certain retailer will likely get us extra goodies. Sometimes these goodies are big and fantastic. Sometimes they are kind of lame and weak. But Square Enix has unveiled that those looking to pre-order Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Tomb Raider game have some serious options to mull over!
The incentives for pre-ordering from one of the three arguably largest video game retailers are as follows:
Best Buy customers will get the Aviatrix Skin for everyone’s favorite female protagonist. Decked out in her bomber jacket, Lara Croft will look every bit like a 1930s adventurer. In addition to that you will get a 48 page comic book, “The Beginning”, which will detail the events leading up to the ill fated circumstance Croft has found herself in.
If Amazon is more your style, you will then be pre-ordering the Final Hours Edition of Tomb Raider. You’ll get the Hunter Skin, which leaves Croft covered in mud, perfect for blending in with the environment like the gritty action hero Square Enix is promising we’ll see. And because skins don’t have the same appeal they used to, you’ll also get “The Art of Tomb Raider”, a 32 page art book and “The Final Hours of Tomb Raider: Director’s Cut”, a behind the scenes documentary downloadable to your Kindle Fire.
And last but not least, the industry giant, Game Stop. Pre-ordering from them will give you, what appears to be, the largest in game incentive. The Challenge Tomb. The Challenge Tomb is said to be an experience separate from the game itself that will have Lara testing her smarts and strengths against various environmental puzzles.
Are you having a hard time deciding yet? Maybe you should hold off on making a decision. These are not the only incentives each retailer will be offering. In total, each company is going to have two more reasons for you to pre-order from them versus their competition. The next pre-order perk set will be announced on December 18th, with the third stage of the incentives being shared with the public some time in January.
