Top Cow Productions’ flagship title, Witchblade, has done something pretty creative, beginning with issue #151, which shows some of the changes for the company’s Top Cow: Rebirth Initiative.

John Tyler Christopher, the cover artist for the series, is now adding in secrets into the cover artwork for all the “A” covers of the series, starting with #151. The “A” cover is going to be the main cover of the book, with variants being assigned other letters. Christopher will be running these secrets in an attempt to get readers a bit of extra content for being fans of the series. Readers will have to work for it, though.

Finding the “artifacts” in each cover will reveal a piece of a puzzle that will span through multiple covers to show a puzzle, with each clue revealing part of the solution. Solving this puzzle will give fans a chance to unlock exclusive bonus material and and downloads by going to the Top Cow Promotions Page. Top Cow is also teaming up with GeekDad, one of the blogs for Wired, to run the “Week Of Witchblade” contest, where each day, a piece of the puzzle will be revealed through the cover art. The blog will reveal a new cover puzzle each day, as well as a new contest.
