The tournament line up has been announced for Quakecon 2012, being help August 2nd to the 5th. Professional and amateurs will by fighting it out over four tournaments of Quake Live for their chance to win a total prize pool of $30,000. The tournament line up is as follows:
- The Quake Live Duel Invitational Masters Championship
This tournament will feature known professionals and top Quake Live competitors hand selected by the tournament staff from the open registration. It will be a 32 person, single elimination bracket featuring 1 vs. 1 duels. This is a $20,000 bracket, with the overall winner earning $9,000. It will feature a pool of the following arenas: Aerowalk, Blood Run, Furious Heights, Lost World, and Toxicity.
- The Intel Quake Live Capture the Flag Open
This is a 4 vs. 4 double elimination tournament featuring 8 teams. The top players will share a pool of $7,000, with $4,000 going to the winning team. This bracket will have a pool of the following arenas: Ironworks, Japanese Castles, Reflux, Spider Crossings, and Stonekeep.
- The Intel Quake Live Duel Open
This tournament is available for up to 64 amateur players. There is a share of $2,000 and the winner will receive $1,000. This will be a single elimination bracket and will show the following arenas: Battleforged, Campgrounds, Hektik, House of Decay, and Phrantic.
- The Intel Quake Live Random Draw Free For All
This will span the entire three days of the convention. The Quake Live Free Play booth will be offering a total prize pool of $1,000. Eight people will be randomly drawn from the crowd to participate in a 5 minute free for all match, the winner getting $100. The following arenas will be shown: Almost Lost, Asylum, Campgrounds, Cliffside, Devilish, Leviathan, Longest Yard, Quarantine, Retribution, and Trinity.
