If it was illegal to make video games look gorgeous then everyone of the people working for the Finnish developer Frozenbyte would be behind bars. Which would be a shame since that would mean that Trine 2: Goblin Menace would never have been made and dear god is it beautiful. Goblin Menace introduces six new skills to the Trine 2 world as well as an all-new campaign spanning six unique levels. The Goblin Menace campaign thrusts the heroic trio of Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight and Zoya the Thief into an adventure chock full of goblin villainy which is kind of odd since normally you don’t want something to be full of goblins. All the new skills are also playable in the original game so you can go back and wail on the pesky creatures you have already stomped once.
As always when it comes to DLC you need the original game to be able to play the extra content. That’s pretty self explanatory so if for some weird reason you haven’t already picked up Trine 2 you can get it for 75% off on steam this weekend. The Goblin Menace DLC is also on sale for 15% off so really there isn’t an excuse to not get this expansion.
Now if only I can figure out how the hell Frozenbyte is going to add a fourth character to the Wii U version of Trine 2 my life will be complete.
