Wii U Preview Event/Announcement

The time has finally come – Nintendo plans to release details including a price & release date for their next console, the Wii U on Thursday, September 13th at 10:00 AM EDT (7:00 AM PDT). The event will be streamed live on Nintendo’s website at: nintendo.com/wiiu.
Announced back at E3 in 2011, the Wii U is set to be the successor to the Wii which was released on November 19th, 2006. The Wii U features a new gamepad with a touch screen embedded into the controller. The controller will also allow players to continue their game while the television is turned off – ultimately turning the system into a temporary handheld game system.
